Who we are
This website belongs to the Microsystems & Nanoengineering Lab, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Dhaka. Questions about this policy or your information: contact@du-eee-micronanolab.com.
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address and message, sent to the lab by email so that we can reply.
- Member accounts: lab members give their name, email address and the profile information they choose to publish (photo, biography, links, CV). Profile information is public; the email address used to sign in is not.
- Requests to join: the name, email address and details entered on the signup form, which a lab administrator reviews.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This website uses:
- Necessary cookies that keep lab members signed in and remember that you accepted this notice.
- Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit), which uses cookies to count visits and see which pages are read, so that we can improve the website.
- Google reCAPTCHA on the login, signup and contact forms, which helps tell people from automated spam.
- Embedded content from YouTube and Google Maps, which may set their own cookies when you play a video or open the map.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them, but members cannot sign in.
Visit statistics and logs
Like most websites, the server records technical information when pages are viewed: the IP address, the page, the time and how long it was open, the type of device and the referring website. We use it to understand how the website is used and to keep it secure. These records are kept for 31 days and are then deleted automatically.
Who else receives information
We do not sell or rent personal information. Our hosting provider stores the website, and Google provides the analytics, reCAPTCHA, YouTube and Maps services described above under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
How long we keep information
- Contact messages: in the lab's email for as long as needed to answer them.
- Member profiles: while the person is listed as a member or alumnus; ask us to remove them at any time.
- Visit statistics and logs: 31 days. Records of account activity: 90 days.
Your choices
You can ask us which information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to the address above. Lab members can edit their own profile at any time from the member dashboard.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
